IBBI Direct
About this retailer
ibbi was founded by the 3 of us- Eliza Browne-Swinburne, Anna Kirkup and Claire McAlpine- 10 years ago, after we travelled extensively through India whilst Anna was working on assignment as a photographer. We were inspired by the vibrant textiles and talented artisans we met on our visits to women's cooperatives in West Bengal and ibbi now champions the affordable traditional crafts we discovered there, allowing traditional skills to find the expression and recognition they deserve. ibbi's ever changing collections, including our vintage embroidered textiles, block prints, ceramics and all manner of unusual found objects, embrace the wonky, the kooky and the handmade. Each timeless, heirloom-worthy, often nostalgic piece has a story to tell. We are not designers, but rather 3 very curious, passionate collectors and we are proud of the trusted, strong relationships we have built with our makers across India and Africa over the last decade. We hope our curated pieces will bring joy, character and just a hint of the colours of the world to your home.
