EnableAll solved problems we'd hit with every other accessibility app we'd tried: unreliable code fixes, weak backend compliance, and toolbars that weren't truly accessible themselves.

Our in-house accessibility tester, a member of our founding family with a significant vision impairment, confirmed our site is now meaningfully more accessible, and they can use it with ease.

The challenge

As a US-based ecommerce brand, maintaining strong accessibility across its website was essential for Sabatino — both to deliver a high-quality customer experience and to reduce ADA-related legal risk. However, after trialing multiple solutions on the market, the family-owned business found many tools to be unreliable, lacking in functionality, and difficult for disabled users to navigate.

Accessibility is also deeply personal to the company. The founder’s son has a severe visual impairment and relies on screen readers to use the site. Yet previous accessibility apps failed to consistently support his navigation, exposing critical gaps in both usability and underlying code structure. Sabatino also found that some tools did not reliably deliver all the fixes they claimed and would often stop working without warning. When issues arose, support was often vague or unhelpful, leaving problems unresolved and confidence diminished.

“Accessibility apps are an essential part of our ADA compliance initiatives. We’ve tried multiple apps in the past but have had many issues with other apps not operating at the level of code fixes we need or providing an accessible user interface experience.”

Despite testing several tools, Sabatino faced recurring challenges:

• Inconsistent backend code fixes

• Reliability issues and tools failing without notice

• Surface-level accessibility rather than meaningful code-level improvements

• User toolbars that lacked depth or usability

• Ongoing concerns around ADA-related legal exposure

For a US-based business operating in an increasingly litigious environment, reliability was non-negotiable.

The solution

After exhausting the alternatives, Sabatino implemented EnableAll — deployed quickly via the Shopify App Store with no developer work required. The team was live within hours, supported by hands-on guidance from EnableAll including a tailored review of the Sabatino site.

Two capabilities immediately stood out:

EnableAll Code-Fix. Unlike overlay-based tools that apply cosmetic fixes at the surface level, Code-Fix works at the structural level — automatically addressing gaps in the site’s underlying code. This includes adding labels to images, form fields, and buttons; introducing skip links; and improving keyboard navigation pathways. The result is accessibility that persists across site updates, without ongoing developer input.

EnableAll Assist-Bar The front-end toolbar gives customers direct control over their browsing experience. Options include adjustable colors and fonts, text-to-speech, and sign language support — providing meaningful, functional accessibility rather than a superficial widget.

Crucially, the combination delivered something previous tools had not: consistency. Structural improvements at the backend, a functional toolbar at the front end, and reliable performance day to day — without impacting site speed, branding, or the checkout experience.

The results

The company saw a significant improvement straight away.

94% reduction in accessibility errors and a 4x increase in positive accessibility features, significantly improving site structure and assistive technology support.

WAVE (WebAIM) score improved to 9.2 (up from 6.3, a 46% increase), reflecting a significant uplift in overall accessibility performance.

Stronger, more consistent backend accessibility through EnableAll Code-Fix, strengthening accessibility at a structural level without the need for developer input or ongoing technical maintenance.

No negative impact on site speed, UX, branding, or checkout performance, ensuring accessibility enhancements supported, rather than disrupted, the customer journey. Increased internal confidence in their ADA accessibility compliance, giving leadership greater peace of mind in a highly litigious US ecommerce environment.

Most importantly, a site that is easier to use for customers relying on screen readers and keyboard navigation, validated directly by a member of the founding family with severe visual impairment.
